2025 HerVest Orientation

2025 HerVest Orientation Recap

On Saturday, March 8, 2025, the HerVest Fellowship officially began its first-year program. The orientation gathered a cohort of passionate and high-potential women students interested in finance and investment. The orientation served as more than just a program overview—it was a space for fellows and mentors to reflect together on the kind of leadership they hope to build through HerVest. As the program moves forward, we look forward to seeing this community of learners and leaders grow, collaborate, and create meaningful impact in the world of finance.

Orientation Highlights

Program Introduction

The session began with an overview of HerVest’s vision, purpose, and the structure of its annual fellowship. The organizing team introduced the core values of the program, which emphasize not only career advancement but also sustainable growth and leadership rooted in relationships and long-term impact.

Mentor & Mentee Introductions

Each participating mentee and mentor shared their backgrounds, areas of interest, and personal motivations for joining the program. This time of open introduction helped lay the foundation of trust and mutual respect that will carry forward throughout the six-month team-based mentoring experience.

Guest Lecture by Joon Sung Park, Co-CIO at Legend Capital

Joon Sung, Co-CIO at Legend Capital, delivered a keynote session for the fellows. His lecture introduced the philosophy behind the ALF Fellowship, walked through real investment case studies from Legend Capital, and outlined strategic perspectives on investment structuring. His reflections on the importance of balancing global insight with local expertise, particularly for Asia-based investors, were especially well received by the audience.

Networking & Dinner

After the formal sessions, participants had the opportunity to continue their conversations over dinner. This casual setting offered time for further introductions and informal discussion of potential team collaborations, marking a strong close to the first official gathering of the HerVest 2025 Fellowship.
