2026 HerVest Orientation Recap
On Saturday, March 21, 2026, the HerVest Fellowship officially began its second-year program. The orientation brought together 11 mentees and 9 mentors from diverse academic and professional backgrounds in finance and investment. More than just an introduction to the fellowship, the session offered mentors and mentees an opportunity to connect, share their experiences, and reflect on the kind of community they hope to build together. As Cohort 2 begins its journey, we look forward to seeing its members learn from one another, build lasting relationships, and grow into future leaders in the investment industry.
Orientation Highlights
Program Introduction
The session began with the founding story of HerVest and an overview of the vision, purpose, and structure of the 2026 fellowship. The organizing team introduced HerVest’s commitment to building a sustainable community of women in finance through mentorship, meaningful relationships, and a pay-it-forward culture.
These activities are designed to help fellows develop both their investment perspectives and professional networks throughout the year.
Mentee Introductions
Each participating mentee introduced herself by sharing her background, experiences, areas of interest, and the questions she hopes to explore through HerVest. With interests spanning different areas of finance and investment, the introductions provided an early glimpse into the diverse perspectives and experiences that Cohort 2 will bring to the HerVest community.
Mentor Introductions & Team Formation
The mentors shared their professional journeys, investment experiences, and personal perspectives on building a career in finance. Following the introductions, the 9 mentors and 11 mentees were matched into three teams, bringing together members with diverse professional, academic, and investment interests.
Networking & Announcements
The orientation concluded with networking and program announcements, giving mentors and mentees an opportunity to continue their conversations beyond the formal introductions. This informal setting allowed participants to get to know members across teams and marked the beginning of many opportunities for Cohort 2 to build connections across different backgrounds and generations of the HerVest community.
